Dentures are the standard treatment option for replacing an entire arch or set of missing teeth. With advancements in dental technology and improvements in denture materials and dental implants, dentures now look more natural, fit more comfortably, and provide a more secure bite.
Dr. Jose Gil provides patients with custom-designed dentures to replace missing teeth and restore the smile. Dr. Gil will fabricate a denture that enhances your features and restores your natural smile. For eligible patients, dental implants can secure a denture in place.
Implant-Secured Dentures
New or existing dentures can be secured using dental implants. As little as four implants can be surgically placed in the jaw or face and used to anchor a denture arch in place. Implant-supported dentures improve comfort, function, and the appearance of the denture. As a result, patients enjoy long-term oral health benefits and a more confident smile.
Benefits of Implant Secured Dentures:
- Support bone retention
- Support gum health & prevent gum recession
- Improves function of the bite
- More stable and secure denture
- No slippage or movement indenture
- Improved speech & chewing mobility
Dr. Gil is a general dentist with advanced implant placement and restorations training. A thorough oral health exam will help to determine if you are a good candidate for implant-supported dentures. Dr. Gil handles all phases of the implant procedure in-house from the comfort of his Allentown, PA dentist office.
Dentures and Partials
If you are missing all of your teeth, or need most of your teeth extracted, a denture can help you rebuild your smile. Dr. Gil’s goal is to rebuild the oral foundation first – restoring any damage done to the jaw or gum tissue. Once oral health is restored a custom denture is designed to fit your unique measurements for a secure fit comfortably.
If implants are being used, Dr. Gil will coordinate your surgical placement. The implants will be surgically placed into the jaw bone and allowed to heal. Implants typically take 3-6 months to fully integrate with the jaw bone creating a stable hold.
Patients will return to Dr. Gil’s office throughout the healing process to ensure safe and successful implantation. During this time patients are typically provided with a temporary denture.
Once the implants have fully healed, Dr. Gil will create a custom denture. Denture materials are now more life-like and are highly durable and stain and decay-resistant. The denture can be color-matched and shaped to enhance your features and create a beautiful, confident smile.
