Tooth BondingAn Overview
Tooth bonding is an economical option for a total smile makeover.
An effective alternative to porcelain veneers, tooth bonding offers semi-permanent options for restoring the appearance of damaged or discolored teeth. Dental bonding is highly durable and natural looking but requires less tooth preparation than traditional veneers making it a reversible cosmetic solution for patients not ready to commit to dental veneers.
Tooth bonding can be used to:
- Close gaps in teeth
- Straighten appearance of a crooked tooth
- Reshape a misshapen tooth
- Whiten a discolored tooth

Tooth Bonding What to Expect
To ensure that the bonding takes hold to the tooth, Dr. Gil will gently remove a minimal amount of the tooth’s enamel to make space for the bonding material.
Dr. Gil color matches the material to your natural smile. The bonding material is highly malleable and can be applied directly to the affected tooth. Dr. Gil will mold the bonding agent into the desired shape and size.
Once approved by the patient, the bonding hardening agent is activated using a special light. The tooth is then polished to a natural sheen.
