Dental Crown Allentown PA

A dental crown is a cap that restores a damaged tooth. Crowns can be placed over an existing tooth or secured using a dental implant. Dental crowns are highly durable, stain-resistant dental restorations that support the natural structure of the bite and smile. Additionally, crowns replace a single missing tooth or support a tooth after a root canal. Some patients may choose a dental crown to repair a broken tooth or to cover up a cosmetic blemish.

Dr. Jose Gil custom designs cosmetic and restorative dental crowns and provides full-service dental implant treatment plans. We use the most modern dental materials to provide natural, durable dental crowns.

Dental Crown Treatment

The dental crown procedure will vary depending on the reason for the dental crown. Dr. Gil will review your treatment plan with you in detail so that you fully understand your procedure.

Cosmetic Dental Crown

If a patient is receiving a dental crown to cover a cosmetic blemish or to repair a broken or damaged tooth the dental crown will be made to fit over the existing tooth. The affected tooth will be prepared by having a minimal amount of tooth structure removed to make room for the crown. Molds will be taken of the prepared tooth and sent to a dental lab for fabrication.

Once the dental crown has been created, Dr. Gil will fit the crown for final approval from the patient. Once the patient is happy with the fit and appearance of the crown, the dental crown will be permanently bonded in place.

Implant Secured Dental Crown

If a dental crown is being used to replace a single missing tooth, the procedure will begin with the surgical implantation of the dental implant. Dr. Gil will coordinate the surgical phase with the patients and the implant will be placed in the root socket from the comfort of our dentist’s office. Once the implant has been implanted, the patient typically receives a temporary dental crown while the implant heals.

A dental crown will be custom designed to blend seamlessly with your natural smile. The final dental crown will be permanently secured to the dental implant using a small abutment piece. Once the crown is in place, the implant looks, feels, and functions just like your other teeth.

Dental Crowns for Root Canals

Dr. Julee Gil is a board-certified endodontist who works with Dr.Gil to provide advanced root canal procedures. After a root canal treatment has been completed, Dr. Gil will custom design a dental crown to place over the treated tooth. The dental crown will help to stabilize the tooth and help prevent future damage or decay.
